From mid august to mid september 2000 we cycled in Alaska. In this season the crowds have left and you’ve got the camp sites all for yourself. The trees color beautifully. It was not yet too cold for cycling, but you do need a warm sleeping bag: nights are freezing. Denali was closed beyond Teklanika due to snow.
